Outcomes: By the end of the summit, Black Belt superintendents formed an alliance to work collaboratively with aligned strategies and priorities to improve academic learning outcomes for black students and determine a path forward for legislative advocacy for differentiated funding, resources, and support for Black-Belt school districts

Superintendent Leadership, Equity, and Legislative Summit II

May 5, 2022

Outcomes: By the end of Summit II, attendees agreed to redefine scholar experiences through the implementation of a collaboratively developed framework to coach for culturally responsive, relevant, and equitable Instruction and classrooms and determine a path forward for legislative advocacy for differentiated funding, resources, and support for Black-Belt school systems.

Advisory Group

Alabama Black Belt Children’s Region Advisory Group 

  • Advisory group will collaborate  to develop the coaching framework guide and meet regularly to align our united work and advocacy strategies.

Professional Learning Community

PLC for Cultural Responsiveness, Relevance and Equity

  • Participants will engage in monthly research, design, practice, and reflection activities to create greater knowledge and expertise in leading cultural responsiveness, relevance, and equity work.
